Architect Andy Lynch, MP Andy Fillmore, MLA Joachim Stroink, Councillors Shawn Cleary and Lindell Smith along with QRMDA Executive Director Karla Nicholson and Board Member Ron Smith of Studioworks International were just a few of the 25 people who joined the volunteers at Walk ‘N Roll Halifax to conduct a Centre Plan Walk on Quinpool Road. The walk took place in late November and the group discussed various sites on the street such as: the Quinpool Centre, The Keep, The former St. Pat’s site, The Ben’s Bakery site and the vacant lot at the corner of Quinpool and Harvard. Density, heights, setbacks, street improvements, active transportation and parking were just some of the topics covered during the walk. The association and the Centre Plan staff were later provided a copy of the notes that were captured during the walk. To receive a copy please e-mail Karla Nicholson and request a copy of the Centre Plan Walk ‘N Roll notes.
The most recent timeline for the Centre Plan was published in allnovascotia.com in early January. The article stated that, “the Centre Plan will not go before a public hearing until May of 2017.”
