Takeya Japanese Acupuncture

What do you love about being on Quinpool?

Quinpool is a very diverse and eclectic district in Halifax. Over the past two years, Quinpool has developed significantly and is continually adding new businesses to the area. The Quinpool Road Mainstreet District Association has been very welcoming and supportive of my clinic and I have been able to connect with many members and forge great relationships!

Tell us about your business!

Having been raised within a family of health practitioners in Sapporo, Japan, I was inspired to pursue a career in a similar field that would help promote health and wellness in my community. I chose acupuncture as my focus when I discovered how naturally effective this type of treatment was in addressing a wide variety of patient health complaints without the use of manufactured pharmaceuticals. My general treatment focuses on rebalancing my patient’s body structure and meridian lines ensuring a positive energy flow throughout the body. I’m a member of the Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine Association of Nova Scotia.

What sets your business apart?

I am currently the only registered and practicing Japanese acupuncturist in the HRM. Having been trained in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan and having practiced since 2006 in a variety of international settings, I practice a unique hybrid blend of Japanese acupuncture and moxibustion that has a focus on Kiiko Style Acupuncture and Yamamoto New Scalp Acupuncture. These are specialized styles that are refined and very effective for treating a variety of health issues including aches, pains, injuries, and stress. Please visit my website for more details and looking forward to have a session with you!
